Recently, the 500 standard cubic meters per hour proton exchange membrane electrolytic cell and the 3,300 standard cubic meters per hour alkaline electrolytic cell products of China Huadian Technology & Industry Corporation Limited, a subsidiary of China Huadian, were officially launched, and the 2.5-megawatt proton exchange membrane electrolytic cell demonstration platform was put into use. This marks a new breakthrough in China's renewable energy electrolytic water hydrogen production equipment, which is of great significance for accelerating the construction of a new energy system and achieving the "dual carbon" goals.


It is understood that the ";Huazhen"; 3300 standard cubic meters per hour alkaline electrolytic cell features high current density, high energy utilization efficiency and high resistance to reverse current. The operating current density of the product is ≥6000 amperes per square meter, which is approximately 100% higher than that of conventional kilowatt-hour electrolytic cells. The weight of the cell body is reduced by about 50% compared to traditional electrolytic cells of the same scale. The load adjustment range of the electrolytic cell is 20% to 110%, and the overall performance indicators have achieved a leapfrog improvement.  



The "Huahan" 500 standard cubic meters per hour proton exchange membrane electrolytic cell features high current density, low DC energy consumption, wide load adjustment range and long service life. The total precious metal loading of the product's membrane electrode is 30% lower than that of traditional electrolytic cells. The current density can reach 30,000 amperes per square meter. The hydrogen production capacity of a single tank is ≥500 standard cubic meters per hour. Input power range: 3% - 135%; The load fluctuation response rate is ≥20% per second. The effective reaction area of a single membrane electrode is ≥3000 square centimeters, which is the largest at home and abroad.



In addition, the 2.5-megawatt proton exchange membrane electrolyzer demonstration platform was put into use at the same time. As the most powerful proton exchange membrane electrolyzer testing platform in the industry at present, it is of great significance to the development of megawatt-level electrolyzer testing and verification capabilities in the hydrogen energy industry, and will provide a solid foundation for the research and development of high-power proton exchange membrane electrolyzer products and technological updates in China.
